Our Vision and Purpose
In 1997 Nalandabodhi was established by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche as a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the genuine teachings of Tibetan Buddhism with an international community. Since Nalandabodhi's inception in 1997, Rinpoche has established centers and study groups in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.

The main activities of Nalandabodhi are to:
1. Provide students with a complete curriculum
of Buddhist study and practice, along with appropriate
textbooks and materials
2. Publish the oral commentaries of important
contemporary teachers
3. Translate and publish religious texts by significant
historic teachers
4. Support communication between the western and
international Buddhist communities.
Nalandabodhi Study, Meditation, and Activity
Courses at Nalandabodhi Centers begin with an introduction to Buddhism, and progress through the Hinayana and Mahayana. There are three major sets of Nalandabodhi courses: the Path of Study, the Path of Meditation, and the Path of Activity. Beginning meditation courses are available to the public. If you become a member of Nalandabodhi, you will also have a Practice Instructor. The courses in the Path of Study are also available through online study for students who may not have access to a local dharma center or may be unable to attend live teachings or other meditation programs. Our courses have their basis in the teachings of both the Kagyu and Nyingma Buddhist lineages, in which Nalandabodhi's founder, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, is a lineage holder.
